Abington Park is set to host a number of performances by local bands as part of the summer bandstand programme between April and September.

The performances, by everything from brass to jazz bands, are set to begin this Sunday, April 6, and run every Sunday until September 21 between the hours of 2pm to 5pm on the park’s iconic bandstand.

The concert season has been extended this year due to sponsorship from The Park Café.

“This year our events team have worked hard to create a varied programme of events for the whole town to enjoy, and we hope everyone will join us on summer Sunday’s to enjoy a fantastic line-up of top quality entertainment.”

Launching the season on Sunday will be The Dave Barry Band, playing easy listening jazz. Other local bands performing include the Beer Parlour Jivers, the Northampton Salvation Army, Lincoln Noel, The Fools Parade, Moulton 77 Brass Band and Northampton Concert Band

There will also be a performance by the Abington Wind Band, Towcester Studio Band and, on Sunday, September 21 the season will end with the Rocking Road Runner Festival, a club run by and with adults with disabilities and their carers.
