People in Northampton will be able to pay their respects to Nelson Mandela during a special service at All Saints Church on Wednesday at 7.30pm.
A book of condolence is also available to sign in the Guildhall until 3pm on Friday before being sent to the South African High Commission in London.
Councillor David Mackintosh, Leader of Northampton Borough Council said: “Nelson Mandela’s passing has been felt around the world. He was a remarkable and compassionate man who overcame adversity and prejudice in his own life, and inspired many others to make the world a better place.
“Next week we will be marking the life of this great man. After the sadness of his loss it is only fitting we celebrate everything his achieved and the effect he had on the world. I would like to see everyone come along and join us on Wednesday as we come together in celebration of a man who achieved so much.”
