Royal Mail is set to recruit 720 seasonal staff to work at the South Midlands Mail Centre at Northampton’s Swan Valley this Christmas.
As in previous years, seasonal workers are being sought by Royal Mail to help sort the Christmas post.
They will support Royal Mail’s 124,000 permanent postmen and women who sort and deliver the mail all year round.
Temporary positions across a variety of shifts will be available between November and early January 2014. The recruitment programme is part of Royal Mail’s investment in additional resources at Christmas to help it provide a good service.
Royal Mail’s operations director, Rob Jenson, said: “Christmas is the busiest time of the year for Royal Mail and we plan all year round to help ensure we deliver the best possible service to our customers.
“Every Christmas, we make a substantial financial commitment in additional resources to handle the festive mailbag, including the recruitment of thousands of temporary workers.”
