Residents living in a raod in Northampton were woken up shortly after 5am to find water gushing towards their homes after a burst water main caused a flood.
The fire brigade and Anglian Water were called out to Crestwood Road in Thorplands on Friday morning after a water main burst.
One resident, who did not wish to be named, said residents were woken at about 5.15am after a car got stuck in the flood water.
The resident said: “The water got very close to some of the houses but luckily the water company turned off the main and the firefighters managed to pump some of the water further away.
“It all got dealt with quite quickly.”
