Respect Posh fans, Cobblers supporters urged

Northampton Town football fans have been urged to respect their rivals from Peterborough United ahead of the big derby clash at Sixfields next week.

Cobblers take on Posh in League One at Sixfields on Saturday week, and Northamptonshire Police say they want the game to be remembered for all the right reasons.

The game is all-ticket and Superintendent George Shipman said fans should take simple precautions to ensure an enjoyable and trouble-free derby fixture.

He said: "The match is all ticket, so if you haven't got a ticket for the game please don't travel as you won't be able to get in.

"If you have a ticket, please ensure that you take your allocated seat as stewards will be enforcing that on the day.

"I would urge supporters to behave and respect other supporters who are attending so that everyone can enjoy what should be a keenly-contested match."
