A PUB in Northamptonshire has been named among the top 500 in the country.
The Red Lion in East Haddon made The Daily Telegraph’s list, which comprised several lists by Michelin.
Landlord Joe Buckley said: “We were very pleased because they appear to have compiled the list based on customer recommendations and you can’t get higher praise than that.
“It’s not something we were expecting and I think it shows how hard our staff work.”
The list features Michelin’s award-winning restaurants from the 2014 Michelin Guide, including all of the Michelin Star restaurants, the Bib Gourmand restaurants, plus some of Michelin’s ‘best recommended’ restaurants.
Michelin inspectors analyse restaurants and hotels throughout the year, completely anonymously. Their anonymity is fundamental to the inspection process that has been refined over more than 100 years.
Mr Buckley said: “I hope it shows that the quality on offer at pubs and restaurants in Northamptonshire is on the rise. The recent county food and drink awards showed what high quality there is here; there used to be the same old names nominated but the last two or three years have shown great variety.”
