Range Rover stolen after keys snatched through letterbox

An expensive Range Rover sport vehicle was stolen after the keys were hooked through the letterbox at the owner's home in East Hunsbury.

The thieves used an object to reach in through the letterbox of the house in West Rising, hook the keys and fish them out in the early hours of Wednesday.

The offenders then stole a dark grey Range Rover Sport, valued at around 47,000, from the driveway.

Police are continuing to urge people not to leave their car or house keys on tables or shelves in hallways where they can be easily spotted and taken by thieves.

"Keys should be put away safely when not in use," said a spokesman.

Anyone with information can call police on 08453 700700 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
