Pupils flying high with visit

SCHOOl children viewed a spectacular display by two planes during a trip to Duxford.

The Year 9 pupils from Brooke Weston College, in Coomb Road, Corby, saw stunning aerobatic manoeuvres during the tour of Imperial War Museum as part of their project on the Second World War.

The youngsters had to complete a workbook on topics including the Battle of Britain.

During their studies, the youngsters looked at conditions on the Home Front and even tried out typical recipes of the era.

The museum tells the story of British and Commonwealth aviation, with more than 30 military and civil aircraft and an interactive exhibitions gallery.

Features include the story of how the Battle of Britain was won and there is also a collection of tanks, other military vehicles and artillery.
