Police made one arrest at the Northampton Town away match at Dagenham and Redbridge on suspicion of using a ‘pyro’ in the stadium, it has been confirmed
A flare was let off before kick-off in the crucial League Two match on Saturday.
PC Nick Price, from Northamptonshire Police, is the officer in charge of policing for high profile football matches in the county and has been leading an amnesty of “pyros” at Sixfields Stadium at recent home games.
He Tweeted via his profile, @NorpolFootball, on Saturday: “Disappointed that #ntfc fans have been involved with #Pyro today.
“2 x #Pyro at Dagenham involving #ntfc fans in the away stand = 1 x arrest”
Cobblers went on to win the game in a convincing 3-0 victory to take them out of the bottom two for the first time since September.
