Bella returned to the family home yesterday afternoon after owners Phil and Sarah Osborne collected her from the dog warden who had found her on the streets of Bristol.

The English springer spaniel was taken from outside the Tesco Express store in Bridge Street, Rothwell, on October 10 last year and had been missing ever since.

Her owners have spent the past four months desperately trying to locate her and it was an emotional moment when they took the call on Tuesday to say Bella was 130 miles away but safe.

After the appeal to find Bella went viral on social media, the dog was back in the spotlight again yesterday, making the news online, in print, radio and television.

And the Northamptonshire Telegraph was there when Bella arrived home in Rothwell.

She was taken for a check-up at the vets, but also took a quick visit to the shop where the drama all started four months ago.

Yellow ribbons still adorn railings outside the shop where Bella was taken, but yesterday’s visit was a much happier occasion for her and her owners – and shop staff who came out to make a fuss of her.
