A photographer was airlifed to hospital after being hit by a dirt bike, travelling at about 40mph, at a motorcross event.
The man, aged 51-years-old, sustained a broken leg and injures to his face at the event in Weedon on Sunday.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) was called to the incident and landed at about 12.50pm.
A spokesman said: “Due to the clinical nature of the incident, the poor weather conditions and very muddy ground, the DLRAA were best equipped to deal with the incident.
“The patient had sustained obvious facial injuries as well as an open leg fracture. The patient was stabilised with IV fluids and a vacuum splint was applied to his left leg.
“Due to the unfavourable weather, he was also given two blankets.”
The man was flown to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire for further treatment.
