Views of NGH patients are being sought so they can passed to inspectors who will visit next month.

The Care Quality Commission will visit NGH from January 16 after it was included on a list of 19 NHS trusts seen as priorities for inspection.

Healthwatch Northamptonshire, the county health watchdog, wants to collect public opinion on care received and is particularly keen to hear about: accident and emergency, medical care (including older people’s care), surgery, intensive and critical care, maternity and family planning, children’s care, end of life care and outpatients.

People can contact Healthwatch Northamptonshire by:

Rosie Newbigging, chief executive of Healthwatch Northamptonshire said: “We want to hear from as many people as possible who have experience of the hospital.

“We welcome the CQC inspection and we hope that the inspection will lead to improved quality of care.

“All relevant information that we receive will be passed on to the CQC as part of their inspection programme.

“We want local people to make their voice count.”

Meanwhile, a ‘listening event’ run by CQC, for the public to express their views, will be held at Northampton Guildhall from 6.30pm to 8pm on January 15.
