Owner watches as car goes up in flames
Firefighters were called to a Northampton street when a car burst into flames while its owner was working on it.
Northamptonshire fire control was bombarded with about 20 calls after the Toyota caught fire yesterday morning in Penrhyn Road, Northampton.
The heat damaged another nearby car and melted the UPVC windows of at least two nearby homes.
Bystander Slawomir Gorka said: "Nobody looked to be hurt by the fire but everyone could see it was pretty intense until the fire appliance arrived."
The Toyota car was destroyed by the fire.
Fire investigators have said the blaze was accidental.
