Old Toll House to go under the hammer

A grade two listed building in Long Buckby Wharf is going under the hammer next Tuesday.

The Old Toll House, a semi-detached house next to the canal, is being sold at a residential auction in London on the order of British Waterways, starting between 90,000 and 100,000.

Allsop will start the 387-lot auction at 9.30am on Tuesday, December 11 at the Royal Garden Hotel, 2-24 Kensington High Street, London.

Allsop partner Gary Murphy said: "This auction will be the largest single-day sale ever held by Allsop and one of the best catalogues we have put together for years. The majority of clients are motivated sellers ranging from banks and building societies to housing associations, local authorities to public utilities and property companies to private individuals.

"We have worked hard to ensure that reserves and guides are set at realistic levels, being mindful of the fact that over the last four months the residential market has seen significant correction. Initial reaction to the catalogue clearly indicates that there is still a strong interest in the residential sector and we look forward to seeing a crowded room on the 11th."
