An NHS worker from Northamptonshire is one of 13 amateur bakers who will be appearing in the new series of BBC2’s Great British Bake-Off, which starts tonight.
Deborah Manger, clinical director in special care dentistry for Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), will be one of 13 amateur bakers appearing on the hit series which starts tonight at 8pm.
Mrs Manger’s love of baking started at an early age, having studied home economics up to A level, and has continued ever since.
She said: “If I could do it again, would I? In a heartbeat; I have had a blast. I met some great people both bakers and production team and learnt a lot about me.
“Since participating in the series I have a new found respect for participants. Despite the fact I manage a fairly difficult job on a daily basis, I find it odd that I found baking in the tent so stressful. When the show airs I will be able to discuss my involvement and experience of programme one.”
Mrs Manger will appear in the first episode in which the bakers produce sandwich cakes, angel food cake and amazing chocolate creations.
