Three ciders from Northamptonshire top the list of 44 different real ciders that will be available at this weekend’s Northampton Sausage and Cider Festival.
The festival will be a celebration of local produce because, as well as the ciders, many of the sausages available are made in the county.
The three ciders are from Vale of Welton, made near Daventry; Saxby’s cider, made near Wellingborough; and The Eydon Cider Co in Eydon.
Festival organiser Crispin Slee said: “Sausage and cider festivals are a great tradition in the West Country. That’s hardly a surprise as there are few things that go better together. As far as we’re concerned they are the new strawberries and cream!”
The festival takes place at Old Scouts RFC in Rushmere Road this weekend. It will help to raise money for the rugby club and for one of its young players.
The festival runs from noon to 11pm on Saturday, June 21 and from noon to 9pm on Sunday June 22. Entry is £5.
