Road users are being advised of overnight closures to the M6 at its junction with the M1 at Catthorpe from Saturday – as part of the Highways Agency’s ongoing improvement scheme.

The M6 westbound link from the M1 at Junction 19 and the M6 westbound entry slip road from the A14 will be closed from 8pm on Saturday, March 22, to 8am the following morning.

Traffic will be diverted via the M1 northbound to junction 20, the A4303 and A426 to join the M6 at junction 1.

Highways Agency project manager Ivan Marriott, said: “These closures are necessary in order for us to change the traffic management needed for the next part of the scheme.

“This can only be done safely by closing the affected carriageways at junction 19.

“This will have an impact on journey times so we would advise motorists to allow extra time for their journeys on these dates.”

Further information about the project is available on the scheme’s website at: www.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/m1-junction-19-improvement-scheme/
