Northampton graffiti art is a big hit

Young artists from Northampton have been brightening up building work in the town with a graffiti art project.

The programme, led by artists Lee Burrows, Nathan Smith and Lucy Lisowiec, included young people from Spring Boroughs and Northamptonshire Voluntary Youth Action painting the hoardings outside Northampton Museum in Guildhall Road.

Each artist used a different theme for three sections inspired by the town and exhibitions in the museum.

Lee Burrows said: "It was pretty unrehearsed and spontaneous. I think it's great because people in Northampton tend to say, art-wise, nothing ever happens but just recently, there seems to be a real connection of artists wanting to do stuff."
