More than 40 pilots have signed up for this year’s Northampton Balloon Festival, organisers have announced.

The festival, which celebrates its 25th year in August, takes place at Billing Aqaudrome.

Meet Director Barry Newman said: “Billing Aquadrome provides a good location for the Balloon Festival. It is one of the events that Northampton is known for around the world.”

The organisers are now hoping for good ballooning weather to allow flights and the famous Saturday night “balloon glow” to take place.

Details of the balloons attending and other information can be found on the official website www.thenorthamptonballoonfestival.co.uk
The festival takes place between August 15 and 17. It is organised by local balloonists, Barry Newman, John Tyrrell, Stewart Wilyman and Wendy Rousell, who took over the event in 2009 from Northampton Borough Council.
