News on Have I Got Didgeridoos For You
A Northamptonshire newsletter which is sent to less than 100 people was beamed into the homes of millions of viewers when it featured on Have I Got News For You.
The Northamptonshire Didgeridoo Club Newsletter was featured on Friday's episode of the topical news quiz in the guest publications round, in which the teams have to guess missing words in obscured headlines from usually obscure publications.
Pete Berni from the club was contacted by the programme's producers on Monday about the newsletter being included in the show.
He said: "I had no concept of what they really wanted. I okayed them using the magazine but I only saw the image that they were going to put up on the screen.
"We knew the nature of the show and judging by the inbox it went down well.
"I think it's a compliment. Anything that gets the name out there is doing us a favour by getting people interested."
The club has been going for four years and its newsletter goes out to about 100 people. During its existence it has broken records for the number of people playing the didgeridoo at once, and Mr Berni has played for the Australian cricket team and met Rolf Harris, who guest-hosted Friday night's episode.
The show also included team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop, comedian and writer Andy Hamilton and journalist Julia Hartley-Brewer.
Berni has posted the quiz clip on his website. Anyone wanting to see the clip or find out more about the club can go to http://www.idoo.info.
