New Year fireworks cause blaze
A man was treated for smoke inhalation at a home in Northampton after a celebratory New Year firework set fire to an outhouse.
Firefighters were called to the house in Clare Street, The Mounts, at and 12.21am on New Year's Day after reports of a fire in a brick outhouse which was joined to the main building.
Two crews cut away wood from the outhouse to make it safer and used a hose reel to put out the flames.
The fire service also called an ambulance crew to the blaze who treated a man for the effects of smoke inhalation at the scene.
It is believed the man did not require hospital treatment.
