A new store at Nene Valley Retail Park in Northampton will be officially opened by the town’s mayor later this month.
Homewares retailer Dunelm has moved into the unit vacated by Comet after the electronics company went into administration, closing stores across the country including Northampton.
The Mayor of Northampton, Les Marriott, will open the store, which has a combined floor space of 29,000 sq ft across two floors, at 9am on Thursday October 31.
Dunelm chief executive, Nick Wharton, said: “We are always excited about the opening of a new store. It takes a lot of hard work, investment and commitment getting a new store up and running and we are delighted to welcome the Mayor of Northampton, Les Marriott to open our doors for the very first time. We are confident that Northampton will continue to play a big part in the continued success of the company and look forward to introducing local shoppers to our diverse home wares offering.”
