Motorbike rider dies after Northamptonshire accident

A motorcyclist has died following following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Brackley during the early hours of Sunday.

The rider of a blue Suzuki motorcycle - a 51-year-old man from Daventry - was pronounced dead following the collision which occurred at 1.05am on High Street, Brackley, at the Burwell Hill junction.

The bike was travelling along Northampton Road out of Brackley towards the A43 when the rider came off the bike.

Police are keen to trace any witnesses who may have seen the motorcyclist leave the centre of Brackley just before the collision.

Anyone with information, or who witnessed the incident, can contact the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.

Police said they are not yet in a position to name the rider as formal identification has yet to take place.
