Man robbed in Northampton town centre

A man was threatened with violence and made to hand over cash and a mobile phone in Northampton town centre.

The man was robbed just after midnight on Wednesday morning when he was walking up Gold Street towards the town centre.

He was stopped outside Millenniums and threatened by a man. The offender was joined by a woman who also told the man to hand over his possessions.

The two made off to the junction of Gold Street and Horseshoe Street where they turned left.

They are described as a 20 to 25 year old black man, about 6ft tall with a goatee beard, wearing a black hooded top with thick horizontal pink stripes around it and a 17 to 23 year old woman, also black with hair tied back in a very short ponytail and wearing a black long sleeved top.

Witnesses or anyone with information can call Northamptonshire Police on 03000 111 222 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
