Man rescued from burning house by firefighters
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from a burning house in Northampton.
The blaze destroyed the kitchen and living room of a semi-detached house in Glendale Court, Bellinge. The man, in his 50s, was taken to Northampton General Hospital suffering from shock and the effects of inhaling smoke.
A shed at the house was also destroyed in the blaze – which broke out at about 8.15pm on Saturday – and the rest of the house was smoke damaged.
Fire crews from Mereway, The Mounts, Moulton and Earls Barton were at the scene for several hours damping down to ensure the blaze did not break out again.
