Man arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after collision on Billing Road in Northampton

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a collision in Northampton yesterday left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

The crash happened at 3.20pm yesterday (Wednesday) on Billing Road at the junction with Denmark Road.

The motorbike, ridden by a 24-year-old man from Northampton, was travelling out of the town centre when it was in a collision with a silver Volkswagen Golf, driven by a 20-year-old man from East Northamptonshire.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries and the road was shut while emergency services attended the scene.

The driver of the Golf was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
