Man airlifted to hospital after collision with car in Northampton

The air ambulance has taken a man to hospital after he was involved in a collision with a car Northampton.

The man, believed to be aged between 50-65, was found conscious and breathing by the ambulance and was taken to University Hospital in Coventry.

Land ambulances also attended the scene on the Victoria Road and Wellingborough Road junction, opposite Micky’s Convenience Store, in Northampton town centre, and police closed a section of Wellingborough Road from 7.50am this morning (Wednesday).

Witnesses said they saw the air ambulance land nearby, as well as land ambulances driving away from the scene. It is expected that a traffic collision investigation will follow.

The road has since reopened.
