A lorry driver has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Kilsby, Northamptonshire.
The 47-year old man sustained chest and abdominal injuries after his vehicle collided with an HGV earlier today.
Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) were called to the incident at 11.15am and arrived at the scene 10 minutes later. On their arrival, the patient was trapped and needed to be cut out by the fire and rescue service.
The patient was assessed by the WNAA crew for his injuries. He was given pain relief and anti-sickness drugs as well as medication to help with blood clotting.
Once he was freed for the wreckage, the patient was immobilised and airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire. The patient’s current condition is unknown.
