Learning from the Lab in a lorry
Young scientists at Campion School got some hands-on experience in a mobile lab filled with a series of experiments.
The Lab in a Lorry stopped at the village secondary school to give years eight and nine students workshops on sound and colour.
Business manager Gavin Rowe, said: "The workshops focused on light, such as why the sky was blue and the effect of using polarised lenses.
"They also concentrated sound by seeing how it could bend wine glasses and on oil extraction by exploring the methods and economic viability of it. This was another way to get pupils learning about the topics using practical experiments."
The lorry was funded by the East Midlands Development Agency and is designed to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
