House plan is set to be rejected
A PLAN to build a house near open space in Gretton is set to be refused at a council committee tonight.
The plan to build a three-storey house and parking to the side of 1 Hatton Lane was refused in June 2007 and opposition from neighbours and the parish council has continued.
Despite the county’s highway authority saying the revised proposal is acceptable, planning officers have advised councillors to reject the plan at Corby Council’s development control meeting.
They say the design is out of proportion and the house is too tall compared with its width. Six objections have been received expressing concerns on the loss of an ancient hedgerow, highway safety, loss of green space, overdevelopment of the plot and loss of privacy to a nearby house.
