Have a say on priorities at community day

A THREE-day event involving the council, police and other agencies will give people a chance to have their say on priorities for Corby.

For the first time, all four Joint Action Groups (JAGs) in the borough are pulling together this weekend to run the community event.

Arts and crafts sessions, face-painting and free community safety goodies will be on offer at the JAG For All event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Land Securities’ marketing suite in Willow Place.

Corby Council leader Pat Fawcett, said: “Residents can collect a wide range of information from one place and we can gather important feedback about the services we provide.

“From information gathered we will be putting together the next three months of priorities for our Safer Community Team (SCT) areas. It’s important that residents come and have their say to guide us in the right direction.”

Representatives from the Fire and Rescue Service and the NHS will also be attending.

Insp Gary Williams said: “There will also be an opportunity to speak with the area commander Chief Superintendent Paul Fell on Monday. I urge residents to pop in and meet the teams and ensure their views are heard.”
