Hair stylist Neal Rooney has spent the last two years making sure the Strictly Northampton contestants were looking their best...now it is his turn to take to the stage.
Neal, who is artistic designer at Outcast Hair Salon in Derngate, says he has not been put off by seeing the backstage nerves of previous contestants as they waited to perform at Royal & Derngate.
“Outcast has been involved in Strictly since the start and it was my turn to have a go at it. I have been to watch it every year and have done the contestants’ hair backstage.
“Everyone was nervous before they went on but it’s not put me off. I want to beat the others from Outcast who have been in it. No-one from here has been in the final yet.”
Neal also revealed his plans for the night...and what he might be doing with his hair.
“I have never danced before. I used to go out dancing when I was a bit younger. I am a bit nervous but I am looking forward to it and I think it will be fun.
“I will do my own hair on the night and I may grow it and put some strange colour in it.”
“It’s for a really good cause.”
