A teenage horse rider was airlifted to hospital after being injured in a fall in a Northamptonshire village.

Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) said today that they were called out to the accident on Saturday at about 1.24pm. landing in a nearby field 14 minutes later.

The patient, a 14-year old girl, sustained a head injury in the fall. She was assessed and treated for her injuries by crew from WNAA and East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) before being airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire.

The crew landed at the hospital at 2:08pm, 20 minutes after landing at the site of the incident.

The current condition of the patient is unknown.
