A former Northamptonshire Police officer has published a crime novel based on cases he dealt with during his time with the force.
Adrian Adams, aged 54, worked as road traffic investigator for 14 years before leaving the police to work for Wincanton as a forensic accident investigator.
Mr Adams’ book, Ringer-the Fragmentor, features locations such as the Abington Park Hotel and includes accurate information about how police investigate sophisticated ‘car ringing’ gangs.
The book is available to buy from Amazon in the Kindle store priced at £2.04.
Mr Adams intends to use the money from book sales to help the National Autistic Society at Irthlingborough which his 27-year-old son, Steven, attends.
He said: “I have always wanted to write a book.
“Most of the buildings and locations in the book are locally accurate and the stories are fiction, but they are based on my own experiences as a accident investigation police officer.”
Adrian Adams’ novel tells the story of a police investigation into two rival car-ringing gangs.
Based largely on fact and actual events, the book follows the day-to-day dealings of the gangs, and the work of the police, including the highly-involved and complicated scams deployed to steal the cars.
