Weather forecasters have said there will be a risk of snow across Northamptonshire next week for the first time this winter.
Pitsford Weather Station, which provides daily forecasts, has said “snow will start to present a risk across the county”.
A spokesman said: “The UK will lie between low pressure systems for much of the day. However, the next Atlantic low is already making its presence felt off the far south-west and this will move in across the country this evening and overnight.
“With high pressure in charge across the UK on Saturday, the start of the weekend is set fair.
“However, an active frontal system will attempt to drive heavy rain into the county late on Sunday accompanied by a strengthening wind.
“This rain will be followed by a cold easterly flow as we head into next week and, for the first time this winter, snow will start to present a risk across the county.”
