The environment agency has issued eight flood warnings for Northamptonshire after a number of houses were damaged by excessive rainfall overnight.
Fire crews attended flooding incidents at homes in Moulton, Harpole, Raunds and Corby and pumped water from roads and ditches to prevent houses flooding in Quinton and Towcester.
A spokeswoman for the Enviroment Agency said: “There is an awful lot of water around. We are asking that people are very careful if they are walking near rivers of flood water because it is windy aswell. It takes on six inches of water to push you off your feet.
“We would also ask people to avoid driving through surface water on roads aswell.”
She added: “We are closely monitoring the situation and updating our website. We had a lot of rain overnight but we hope that the weather should be improving.”
Travel across the county has been disrupted because of road closures due to flooding.
The A4500 Northampton is still closed both ways between M1 J16 and A5076 Upton Way at the Sixfields roundabout.
Northamptonshire Police Force have issued a warning to residents to be careful when driving along the flooded Rushmere Road.
Peter Angelides, business development manager at Billing Aquadrome, which was hit with flooding earlier this week, said that there are still no plans to move evacuated residents back in before the end of the weekend.
He said representatives from the caravan park in Crow Lane, Great Billing, will meet with Northamptonshire Police Force and the Environment Agency tomorrow at 11am to discuss the weather forecast and the next steps for the park.
According to the Met Office the odd outbreak of rain is expected later today and winds will begin to ease.
It is expected to rain this evening before becoming lighter and more intermittent in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
