Five arrests in police action over child abuse
Five men have been arrested after 'two days of action' by officers from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit in Northamptonshire.
Police carried out five unrelated warrants at three properties in Kettering, one in Irthlingborough and one in a village south of Northampton over Tuesday and Wednesday.
As a result five men, whose ages range from 40 to 73, were arrested on suspicion of making and possessing indecent abusive images of children.
All five have been interviewed and released on police bail pending further investigation.
A substantial quantity of computer equipment was seized during the warrants, which were carried out under the Protection of Children Act 1978.
This will now be subject to detailed investigation.
