Film role for Becky following online ad
An ambitious film producer has landed her first job making a new feature with Michael Gambon, Bob Hoskins and Greta Scacchi, while working from her bedroom in Northamptonshire.
Becky Adams, aged 24, said she was not interested in watching films until she joined a photographic society while studying at university, and decided to become a producer.
Since then she put an advert for her company, Reelscape Films, on a film networking site and impressed the scriptwriters of Small Inclusions, a new drama which has already attracted top names.
Miss Adams, of Denford Ash, between Thrapston and Raunds, said: "I was never that interested in films and thought watching them was a bit of a waste of time to be honest, but then I realised how much work goes into them and all the different processes that go into making a film.
"I thought I would give it a go and produced a small feature, but this is my first film, and we are hoping for a full cinema release. I've got no pulling power with big names but the writer and director have both got a lot of experience."
Small Inclusions, described as a thriller about "love and regret", is currently in production and the makers have a 3 million budget. It is directed by Herbert Wise, who has worked on I, Claudius and Julius Caesar for the BBC.
Miss Adams said she had no idea how she had impressed the writers so much to take a risk by naming her as producer. She said: "I thought I'd written a fairly boring advert, but something about it connected with them. It's important in film to make sure you pick the right team of people and sometimes that's not always about who is the most experienced.
"I am quite ambitious so every time I do something I want to do something bigger the next time around."
Miss Adams is still working from her bedroom in Denford Ash but will convert space at the home into a hub when the film gets underway, with scores of production crew members expected to descend on the village.
Her company, Reelscape Films, will be officially launched at Northampton Museum on Thursday, April 17.
