Figures reveal most burgled Northampton streets
New police figures have revealed the 10 most burgled streets in Northampton, where homes have been broken into up to 10 times in one year.
Those living in Abington Avenue have suffering the most break-ins during the past 12 months, while other areas of Northampton have also been hit by burglaries.
Daryl Davey, 45, who lives in Abington Avenue, where only one of the 10 crimes was solved since last October, disturbed a burglar in his home some years ago and said he still did not feel safe.
He said: "I've been double-checking the alarm system and sometimes we get the police knock on the door and ask if we've seen or heard anything."
In the latest burglary on the street, a wallet and a mobile phone were stolen from a home in August.
A police spokesman said the force would be sending letters with security advice to residents, as well as holding a mobile police surgery.

Sgt Steve Bedford, from the Abington and Weston Safer Community Team, said: "In seven of the 10 incidents, the offenders entered the property through an unlocked door or window.
"The area is regularly patrolled by the safer community team and the mobile police station will be heading there in the coming weeks, to drive home the crime prevention message.
"Abington Avenue is one of the longest streets in the town and has a high number of multiple occupancy dwellings."
The second most burgled street was Watermeadow Drive, off Lings Way, with nine unsolved burglaries. There were eight burglaries in Arbour View Court in Thorplands.
Earlier this year, the Chronicle & Echo reported that police were looking for a group of children as young as eight, who broke into a home in Arbour View Court and stole a games console, laptop and speakers.
A woman who lives in the street and was burgled last year said: "I'm quite surprised there were so many, because I've only heard of a couple.
"They have increased things like community beat officers in the day-time and we are all upping our security."
Supt John Jones, of the Northamptonshire West police area, said: "Burglary in Northampton is still relatively low, when compared with other places across the UK. We put a lot of resources into investigating burglaries and are dedicated to tracking down and bringing to justice those who commit this crime.
"And from April 1 to September 30 this year, there have been 1,048 dwelling burglaries, which is 115 less than the previous year's total of 1,163 and represents a drop of almost 10 per cent."
