Cross-dresser denies ASBO breach
A cross-dresser has denied breaking the terms of an ASBO banning him from wearing a Britney Spears-style skirt on school days.
Peter Trigger, aged 60, appeared before magistrates yesterday where he denied three charges of breaching the ASBO, which bans him from wearing skirts and baring his legs between the hours of 8.30am and 10am and 2.45pm and 4pm on school days.
Trigger was given the order after parents walking their children to Woodvale Primary School, in Northampton, claimed he had bent over, exposed his bare thighs and indicated to them that he was wearing no underwear.
Trigger, of Fardon Close, in Thorplands, is accused of wearing a skirt and baring his legs outside a school on January 27 and again on January 28 at around 9am.
He is also charged with a third breach of the five-year banning order, made by magistrates in December 2008, of allegedly causing "harassment, alarm or distress" on December 14, last year.
Appearing in court, Mr Trigger spoke to confirm his name, age and address before he entered not guilty pleas to all three charges.
Chairman of the magistrates, Johnson Powell, told Trigger: "In the interests of justice we are prepared to adjourn these matters today.
"We will be releasing you on unconditional bail."
When the ASBO was imposed the court heard from parents whose children had been scared and confused by Trigger's behaviour.
He will return to court later this month for a trial.
