Concerns over housing plans for Grange Park
Concerns have been raised about latest plans to increase the number of houses in Grange Park.
Plans have been submitted to the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) to build 95 houses and a new road close to Saxon Avenue on the estate.
The scheme was previously given outline planning permission by the WNDC, but now more detailed plans have been revealed by Northants Developments Ltd, which owns the land.
After seeing the latest proposals, residents have expressed concerns Grange Park would not be able to cope with the new homes.
One Finney Drive resident said: "I don't believe the current infrastructure can adequately support the proposed development. The traffic heading towards the M1 is already extremely heavy at peak times and causes severe delays and traffic jams around Grange Park.
"In addition, the local primary school, doctor's surgery and dental practice are already full and are running at over-capacity."
Another Birch Close resident added: "In the time I've lived here, I've watched the local school struggle to cope with the intake of pupils from the current population of Grange Park."
Members of the WNDC will consider the housing plans and decide whether the development should go ahead during a meeting later in the year.
