BREAKING NEWS: Man dies following motorway smash on Northamptonshire border
A MAN has died following a crash on the M1 motorway on Sunday morning.
At 11.40am, a green Land Rover Defender left the northbound carriageway between Newport Pagnell Services and Junction 15.
The vehicle landed on its roof on the verge by the hard shoulder and the drivers of two other vehicles - a black Audi A3 and a blue Toyota Corrolla - stopped to help.
A few moments later, a green Peugeot 406 also left the carriageway and collided with the stationary Audi and Toyota.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “The driver of the Peugeot - a 54-year-old man from north London - was pronounced dead at the scene.
“There were no other serious injuries to the three occupants of the Land Rover, the two occupants of the Audi or the driver of the Toyota.”
Witnesses can call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.
