Bond shoes sold!

Two pairs of James Bond's Northampton-made shoes have been sold at auction for a combined total of more than £2,000.

The Church's size 11s were worn by Pierce Brosnan during filming for his 007 debut Goldeneye and went under the hammer at Christie's in London on Wednesday.

One of the lots, a pair of brown leather brogues, fetched nearly double their 600 estimate when they were snapped up for 1,125.

The second lot, a similar pair of brogues in black with an estimated price of between 800 and 1,200, fetched slightly less and were sold for 1,000.

Goldeneye was released in 1995 and was the first of Brosnan's four outings as the famous secret agent.

Costume designer Lindy Hemming settled on Church's shoes to complement the tailoring of Bond's Brioni three piece suit, which was also sold at the auction.
