A 48-year-old man from Banbury was airlifted to hospital after emergency services were called to the A43.
The emergency services were called to the A43, near the A5 roundabout by the Volkswagen dealership, at around 8.35am today after a motorcyclist riding a blue Suzuki GSXR 1000 pulled over and collapsed.
A passing soldier assisted the man while a community first responder, who witnessed the incident, provided CPR.
The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance arrived at the scene at 8.51am and provided life support to the patient with the help of the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS).
Both crews were able to get the patient’s circulation going again and he was airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire.
The A43 was closed in both directions after the incident.
It is believed the biker became ill while riding along the A43 and the police have confirmed there were no other vehicles involved.
The A43 was closed for approximately two hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.
