Bike rider punched in the face during robbery in Northampton



A bike rider was punched in the face and had his bike stolen during a robbery in Northampton.

The attack happened between 3pm and 3.30pm on Saturday December 16 while the man was riding his bike in Semilong Road.

A police spokesman said: “The man noticed two men and a woman walking on the opposite side of the road. One of the men approached him, threatened him and demanded the bike.

“He hit him in the face, stole the bike and made off towards Kingsthorpe Road. There was another man and a woman standing on the other side of the road who appeared to be friends with the offender.”

The offender is described as a stocky, clean-shaven white man wearing a black cap. Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
