Barwell leads tributes to Lynn Wilson
Northampton Saints owner Keith Barwell has led the tributes to Lynn Wilson, the former chairman of housebuilders Wilson Connolly and ex-president of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club, who died in a car accident in Scotland.
The 69-year-old died following a crash involving two cars and a lorry on the A96 near Forres in Moray at about 2.30pm on Wednesday.
A lifelong Northamptonshire resident, Mr Wilson will be remembered not just for his involvement in building firm Wilson Connolly but also for his involvement in sport and charity work.
As well as playing a major role in Northamptonshire County Cricket Club and the Saints cricket club, he also set up the Wilson Foundation charity.
Mr Barwell said:"I often looked at the Honours lists and wondered why Lynn hadn't been knighted for all that he did for Northamptonshire.
"It probably didn't bother him in the slightest, but he deserved it.
"The county has lost a huge man and his premature death will be felt by all the many people that he was involved with in Northamptonshire."
Bob Pickthall, divisional managing director of Taylor Wimpey and formerly Wilson Connolly said: "It is a tragic situation and my thoughts are with Lynn's family.

"I worked for Wilson Connolly for many years and it was a very well respected and successful company and a fitting legacy to Lynn's achievements in the business world."
A spokesman for Grampian Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash - a lorry, a car and a 4x4 vehicle.
Mr Wilson, a keen racehorse owner, sold the Wilson Connolly business to Taylor Woodrow for 480m in 2003, putting him and his brother Con in the top 20 of an annual UK rich list.
A racing lover, he owned several winning racehorses.
In 2006, the Wilson Foundation paid for the 100,000 memorial commemorating the work of the late scientist Francis Crick which was built in Abington Street.
The following year, he received a fellowship for his work in business and sport from the University of Northampton.
