£3.5m drugs suspect in court
A suspected drug dealer has denied involvement in a £3.5 million drugs hoard thought to be one of the largest ever seizures in Northamptonshire.
Freshkumar Kakkad, aged 45, was arrested when police officers raided a property in Cambian Close, Kettering, on Friday, December 11.
Sam Mainds, prosecuting, said officers found what they described as a 'drugs supermarket'.
When arrested, officers believed the horde of cocaine, amphetamines and cannabis was worth up to 4.5 million, although Mr Mainds said a new valuation put it at 3.5 million.
Kumar, of Cambian Close, Kettering, yesterday pleaded not guilty to four charges of possessing class A and three forms of class B drugs with intent to supply. Freshkumar was remanded in custody until his trial.
