The air ambulance was called to Rockingham

A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital by air ambulance after he injured his hip at a motorsport event near Daventry.

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was called out at 5.45pm on Sunday after they received reports of a boy who being injured during a race. T

The crew landed in the grounds at around 5.45pm, nine minutes after leaving their base at Coventry Airport.

On arrival, the boy was being treated for a hip injury by the event’s medical team. He was given pain relief by the medical team prior to WNAA’s arrival.

The crew from WNAA provided more advanced pain relief before immobilising the patient and airlifting him to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire for further treatment.

The boy’s condition was stable throughout the flight and the crew landed at the hospital at around 6.30pm.
