Lead detective in David Brickwood murder investigation says police have a ‘number of strong leads’

The detective leading the investigation into a Northampton pensioner’s murder says the force is currently following up “a number of strong leads” in the case.

David Brickwood, aged 74, died after he was the victim of a violent assault in his home in Lindsay Avenue, Abington, at 2am on Saturday, September 26.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Graham, who is leading the investigation into Mr Brickwood’s death, said he was confident the killer would be caught

He said: “We are following up a number of strong leads in the case and we are confident we will catch the people responsible for this awful crime.

“While we continue our investigations, we would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual in the Lindsay Avenue area on the evening of Friday, September 25, or the early hours of the following morning, to contact us.

“I believe the information we receive from the public will be vitally important to us as we work to catch David Brickwood’s killers.”
