Kingsthorpe College is set to welcome back a record number of sixth formers in September, after pupils collected their GCSE results this morning.

The Boughton Green Road college claims to have achieved its best ever GCSE results this summer, saying that “standards have risen in all performance measures.”

On average, students at the college achieved almost half a grade better than the national average.

Vice principal Jennie Giovanelli, said: “These results reflect the dedication and hard work of all of our staff, students, and parents, and we are delighted that we are helping our students gain both the character and currency that they need to progress to their post 16 studies.

“We are looking forward to welcoming a record number of students back to our sixth form in September, and we are excited about continuing to help make everything possible for all of our students next year.”

Top performers included Ayesha Patel, who got two A*s and eight As and Husam Uddin who took home five A*s, seven As and a B.
